  • What worked well?
    • I made the smart decision to not roll / spar tonight. It was a lighter class, so I probably could have done fine, but I’m glad I settled on the decision based on how I was feeling ahead of time rather than seeing who showed up or not and ducking hard rounds.
  • What didn’t work?
    • I slept like shit. I was dragging ass and felt like I got hit by a ton of bricks all day. It took me a while to figure out why, but I wore my night time mouth guard (for teeth grinding) which I don’t usually do. Even though it’s pretty low profile, apparently having a big chuck of plastic in your mouth isn’t conducive to sleeping with your mouth closed.
  • Plan for next time?
    • I’m still figuring out my next training micro-cycle. I could do Monday Gi class, or make a drive on Sunday’s for cross training. The latter is better for my style, but I also do bitework with my dogs on Sunday. The former is logistically better, but not really something I’m excited about, though I could probably use polishing up my Gi game.
