Training Logs and Analysis:
- Week of 2023-12-18: Mobility and hypertrophy were the main themes this week. I was traveling for the holidays and cross training at the gym I began BJJ / MMA at. With that in mind, the goals was simply to play and learn with uncommon training partners. On the strength and conditioning side I explored some new and old movements and pushed into a painful territory of chest / shoulder development.
- Week of 2024-01-01: Starting the New Year off right! As has been tradition, for the past couple years, I focus my grappling on wrestling and takedowns at the top of the year. Additionally, Week 2 of NonProphet’s Escape Velocity program brings FYF (F*ck You Friday) back into the rotation, which, as the name implies, necessitates revisiting discussions on recovery.
- Week of 2024-01-08: What an amazing week! I was reintroduced to the grieving process associated with long slogging capacity-endurance efforts, approaching 700 calories / hour of work output and fulfilling that 1-hour obligation. Additionally, my family pack grew by +1.
- Week of 2024-01-15: This week featured some interplay between endurance and capacity work with the week ending in two high volume, lower-body focused sessions.
