Energy System: Aerobic Capacity

Difficulty: Test


Intention:

This will hurt. Predictably, you will start with confidence, which will be followed by doubt. The doubt will be replaced by negotiating and eventually you’ll find despair. The cycle will repeat itself again in the last quarter of the effort. This is the answer to “how hard can you work”, “how much work can you get done” in an allotted time period.

The difficulty here is holding tension. Come out to hot, and you’ll crash and burn before you really get to anything gnarly. By contrast, you can easily sell yourself short and deprive yourself of the experience by going too easy; you’ll never be able to make up the work once it’s too late.

Warm Up:

Bike x 10 minute (easy pace)

Work:

  • Bike x 10 minutes (goal = Bodyweight in calories)
