Intention:

Similarly to the boundary between endurance builds / cultivation, the distinction comes down to one’s intention. You’re probably building something you’re familiar with, or are in the process of becoming familiar with. On the other hand, “cultivation” implies curiosity; e.g. what if X movement is substituted for Y.

In this session, the question being asked is “how fast can I burn 100 calories.” I knew it would “hurt”, but not punish — as is often the case in a test — and the session wasn’t part of a structured build. That leaves it squarely in the broad territory of cultivation.

Warm Up:

Bike x 10 minutes (Zone 2 pace)

Work:

Bike x 100 calories (for time)
