Intention:
I’m logging this session long in retrospect, but it was a unique endeavor to have a squad of 6 people participate and test themselves. Difficulty is complicated to ascribe in a team setting because (as is the point) different players will have different strengths and weaknesses. Therefore, we also aren’t usually all on the same track as far as what we’re developing in regular training.
This was also a special session because I was able to talk everyone into a little pow-wow sessions afterwards to process any observations in their psychological state(s) throughout the session.
Everyone was smoked. Everyone had fun. No body puked. It was a good day.
Warm Up:
Teams of 2:
- 50 x ball-over-bar
Work:
AMRAP / 10 min (teams of 2)
Player 1: Sandbag Get Up (25#) x 1
- Cannot sit the weight down, someone must be holding it the entire session.
Player 2: Burpee (+1 burpee per round)
- After player 2 completes their burpees, the players will trade the weight and repeat the round. So, P1 gets down and up and hold while P2 does burpees, they swap, P2 gets up and down while P1 does burpess, the advance to the next round and add one burpee per total round.
