Energy System: Anaerobic Capacity (BJJ)

Intention:
“Constraints based training” and the “ecological model” are all the rage nowadays. It’s got some drawbacks, but shifting the focus on a specific principle-driven objective is a great teaching too vs. “just win the round.” Today, Kyle built up the intensity of various wrestling and grip fighting positional drills until we were at a live pace, then we capped the day off with some open rounds and, as per tradition, ended with “bad positions” (under fatigue).

Work:
~60 minutes progressive buildup of wrestling “games”
3 x 2 min rounds of bad position sparring
5 x 2 min rounds of “first to score or submit”
3 x 2 min rounds of positional sparring
