Overview:
- 8-Week Focus: * 8-Week Focus: Ben Galper Basic Grip Program
- 4 session x 4 week program will take longer to allow for rest and grappling training.
- Weekly Objective: Adjust difficulty and develop follow-up training plan.
Assessment:
- Sleep Quantity (hours): 7
- Sleep Quality (1-5): 2
- Mood (1-5): 4
- Soreness (1-5): 1
Training:
- 5 x 5 minute rounds:
- 1:1 work:rest
Review:
- Difficulty (1-10): 6
- Performance (1-10): 8
- Mat Hours: 1
- What worked well:
- To let my elbow recover I only did one hard round, and the other 4 were very moderate and “playful.” This helped my mood, my elbow, and to build creativity – as the focus was to try techniques outside my normal repertoire.
- What didn’t work well:
- I didn’t focus on guard passing, which needs to be the focus for my next grappling block.
- Plan for next time:
- Open mat training should focus on developing my guard passing.
- In class, continue to limit myself to the “move(s) of the day.”
